ABOUT THE TEAM
The RPI Women's Club Soccer team (RPI WCS) aims to play in a competitive, talented, and fun environment. The team trains and competes throughout the academic year. In the fall, the team participates in the NIRSA Region I Women's Soccer League, including league games and post-season tournaments. During league play, the team holds roughly two training sessions a week to prepare for games that are held around Upstate New York. In the winter, the team partakes in RPI's intramural league, stays in shape with team workouts, and holds occasional training sessions, when space is available to do so. During the spring semester, the team holds weekly training sessions, participates in friendlies with teams from the surrounding area, and continues to play in RPI's intramural league.
The team aims to create a welcoming atmosphere for women of all backgrounds to compete in games and develop skills while creating friendships that exist both on and off the field. In addition to training and game-play, the team tries to hold several team bonding events throughout each semester, to give players another way to relax and take a small break from academic studies.
